Answers to the most common questions
What is ORGAHELP?
ORGAHELP is a platform for volunteering. Mostly non-profit organisations publish events, tasks, listings and surveys here and find volunteers this way. People who want to volunteer find opportunities to lend a hand.
How do I sign up for an event?
Pick an event under Events and fill in the form on the event page. Without an account you then receive an email with a link. Your sign-up only becomes valid once you click that link. If no email arrives, please check your spam folder.
Do I need an account?
Not for events. You can sign up for any event without an account. With an account you see all your events and their status in one place. You can also take on tasks, follow organisations and rate them. You decide whether you want one when you sign up for an event or under Create account.
I can't come to an event. What do I need to do?
Your confirmation email contains a button for cancelling. Please use it. If you have an account, you can also cancel in the cockpit under “My events”. Alternatively, send the organisation a short email.
What happens when an event is full?
If the organisation offers a waiting list, you can join it. As soon as a place becomes free you move up automatically and receive an email.
What are tasks?
Under Tasks organisations publish things that need to be done, for example a pick-up or a transport. With an account you can take on a free task with one click. The organisation then sees your name and email address, and you see the contact person. If you can't manage it after all, please hand the task back early in the cockpit.
What are listings?
Under Listings you find requests and offers from organisations: things that are needed and things that are being given away. If you can help or need something, get in touch directly with the contact in the listing. Some contacts are only visible to logged-in users or only to organisations.
How do I take part in a survey?
Organisations can create surveys. You take part via the link the organisation sends you, or via its page. You don't need an account for this. Whether the survey is anonymous or asks for your name is stated on the survey itself.
How do I find organisations?
All organisations are listed under Orgas, with a search by name or town. On the page of an organisation you see its events, tasks and listings.
What do “Follow” and the bell mean?
With an account you can follow organisations. Their events then appear together in the cockpit under “My orga feed”. If you also switch on the bell, you receive an email as soon as the organisation publishes new events.
How do I get new events by email?
Through the newsletter. You decide how often it arrives and can unsubscribe at any time.
Can I rate an organisation?
Yes. After an event you receive an email asking for feedback: stars and, if you like, a few words. With an account you can also rate an organisation independently of an event, via “Rate” on its page. This is possible once every twelve months per organisation. Publicly, your first name and your abbreviated surname appear, for example “Max M.”.
Can I donate to an organisation?
If an organisation has entered a donation link, you will find the “Donate” button on its page. It leads to the organisation's donation page. No money flows through ORGAHELP itself.
Who answers questions about events, locations and organisations?
The organisation itself does. You will find contact details on the organisation's page. The ORGAHELP team has no further information about individual events, tasks, listings and locations.
Is ORGAHELP free?
Yes, ORGAHELP is free for participants. Organisations may pay a small contribution towards the hosting costs.
How is “organisation” defined?
An organisation can be a non-profit association, or just as well a neighbourhood group that would like to keep its area clean and is looking for like-minded people. A church or a food donation project can register just the same. So the term is deliberately broad. The aim is to promote positive things.
What is a verified organisation?
A verified organisation carries a blue tick and is personally known to the ORGAHELP team.
How do I register my organisation?
Via Register an organisation. You fill in the form, open the link from the email and set your password. After that you add details such as logo, links and contact person, and you are ready to go.
What can organisations do with ORGAHELP?
- Events: plan assignments, one-off or as a series. Volunteers sign up themselves, optionally with a waiting list, your own questions and files.
- Tasks: internal for the team or public for volunteers to take on, one-off or as a series.

- Surveys: gather opinions, anonymously or with names, with an evaluation.
- Team: invite more people and work together.
- Your own page: logo, cover image or video, “About us”, social links and donation link.
- Feedback: feedback and stars from volunteers.
Which rules apply, and what happens to my data?
The Terms of Use and Participation and the privacy policy apply. You can delete your account at any time in the cockpit under “Profile”.
Who is behind ORGAHELP?
ORGAHELP is developed and run by Christoph Scholz. Christoph works in IT and web design and regularly supports non-profit organisations. The idea for ORGAHELP came when Russia attacked Ukraine in 2022. Suddenly there were a great many helpers, but no tool to spread them well across the different days so that they could sign up themselves, quickly and without an account. Many organisations had and still have trouble organising their volunteers. ORGAHELP came about as a small attempt to help.
